  • Max Porter is a well respected chef based in Eumundi, on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Max was chef de cuisine at Siggis at the Port Office in Brisbane for four years from 1991 before embarking on a tastebud-watering world tour which took in Michelin-starred restaurants in France.

    He returned to begin the acclaimed Max's Native Sun Cuisine in Noosa, 'A cool little BYO you tell your friends about.' After a seven year sojourn the restaurant was sold and has now specialised in gastronomic endeavours including unique food experiences, cooking classes and his boutique food range. Max's stand alone personality comes through in everything he does, making him the perfect choice for your next memorable event.

Max Porter – Duck Extraordinaire

This Eumundi chef simply loves ducks and the recipes prepared during the class are tried and proven and come from Max’s heart.

Max has roasted thousands of ducks in his long career – about 8000 ducks to be more precise; he’s cooked 2000kg of confit, prepared almost 1000kg of duck liver pate, and washed it all down with 15,000 litres of duck stock.

Instead of driving Max quackers, his love affair with the duck has taken him all over, including for many years to his Thomas Street restaurant at Noosaville (which he sold three years ago), and more recently as guest chef to the Kin Kin Manor.
